Match the space on your board

Hogwarts Location Index

Find six locations verified in the publisher’s rulebook. Match the official illustration, then check the space’s rules and your card’s movement permission.

Official source reviewed: · Chinese names are this wiki’s translations. Page numbers are printed rulebook pages.

Read the official board

  1. Identify the named space or match the Location Card’s coordinate, highlighted map and detail.
  2. Check whether the space is open, protected or tied to the objective card you actually hold.
  3. Trace each full shared border on the physical board and check obstacles against your card. A location name alone does not grant a route.

A–E on this publisher illustration label setup steps, not grid coordinates. The index confirms only C3 and E1 from the illustrated Location Cards. It does not calculate routes or publish unverified passage endpoints.

Great Hall

#

House starting / return space

Three pawns from each chosen House start here. When Dark Arts bumps a House pawn, the chosen House pawn returns here.

Printed coordinate
Not stated in the cited example; use the official illustration.
How to locate it
In the main-board setup illustration, look for the coloured House pawns on the hall on the right of the castle, marked D. The close-up below shows that same printed setup marker.
Before you move
D labels a setup instruction; it is not a grid coordinate. Starting here does not waive movement or obstacle rules on a later route.

Library

#

Library Book source

A visiting House player who has no Library Book Card may take one of the two face-up books on the Side Board. Resolve its effect and knock-on effects immediately, then refill its display space.

Printed coordinate
Not stated in the cited example; use the official illustration.
How to locate it
Find the space labelled LIBRARY in the official close-up on printed page 11. The same space sits between the Restricted Section and Defence Against the Dark Arts area in the main-board illustration.
Before you move
These nearby labels help identify the space; they do not establish a legal route between the areas. The Library Book holding limit is one per House player.

Room of Requirement

#

Removable board piece / D.A. Coin source

It opens when any House pawn on the Loyalty Track reaches space five or higher. Entering the revealed room grants a D.A. Coin from the supply, subject to the one-coin limit. It closes when all House pawns fall below five.

Printed coordinate
Not stated in the cited example; use the official illustration.
How to locate it
Match the curved outline marked ROOM OF REQUIREMENT on the Main Board to the separate board piece. Printed page 19 shows the outline, the installed piece and its removal; the detail below shows the installed piece.
Before you move
The room is accessible only while revealed. If a pawn is inside when the piece is removed, the rulebook says it remains there until the room is revealed again.

Hagrid’s Hut

#

Illustrated Protected Area

The publisher uses this hut to illustrate a Protected Area. A Dark Arts pawn cannot pass through or end its move on a Protected Area space.

Printed coordinate
Not stated in the cited example; use the official illustration.
How to locate it
Look for HAGRID’S HUT and the blue shield in the official movement example on printed page 20. On the main-board overview, match the small building with the blue shield in the lower-right grounds.
Before you move
Read the blue shield as a game restriction. Do not infer permitted entries or adjacent spaces from the illustration’s paths alone.

Astronomy Tower

#

Illustrated House Location objective

The House Location Card shown on printed page 14 names the Astronomy Tower and prints C3. It is an objective example: House players earn a Parchment Scroll by occupying two of their Location Card areas simultaneously.

Printed coordinate
C3
How to locate it
Use C3 together with the card’s location map, which highlights the target area, and its detailed illustration. Match the tower image to the Main Board; do not substitute a story map of Hogwarts.
Before you move
C3 is a verified printed card coordinate. This example does not mean every House player is dealt this objective, or that the page identifies every card in the 21-card Location Deck.

The White Tomb

#

Illustrated Dark Arts Location objective

The Dark Arts Location Card shown on printed page 15 names The White Tomb and prints E1. Printed page 23 uses the White Tomb in a victory example with two Dark Arts pawns and all three Progress Tokens.

Printed coordinate
E1
How to locate it
Match E1 and the card’s highlighted location map to its tomb illustration. The same tomb is shown in the printed page 23 victory example. Use the location card in your actual game to identify the objective.
Before you move
E1 identifies this published card example. Two pawns is the illustrated victory state, not a universal Dark Arts requirement: the required count depends on the Path state and the location-objective rules.

What this index verifies

Six named places, their illustrated identification and the cited rules. The 21 physical House Location Cards and four physical Dark Arts Location Cards are component counts, not a published complete list of distinct named destinations.

Only Astronomy Tower C3 and The White Tomb E1 are stated as coordinates here. The other four are identified through official examples. Full coordinates, passage endpoints, adjacency and shortest routes remain unlisted unless verified.
