Dark Arts ends on a House pawn: resolve a bump
The moving side matters: a Dark Arts pawn ending on a House pawn causes a bump, with a return to the Great Hall and a once-per-turn card acquisition.
This hypothetical situation was written by the wiki editors from the cited rules. It is an explanation, not a publisher ruling or a recorded playtest.
Bump: Dark Arts moves onto House

D moves towards the space occupied by H.
With multiple House Pawns, choose only one to bump.
The chosen H returns to the Great Hall; D returns to its off-board pool.
Then resolve the House Marker and the once-per-turn acquire reward. If all participating House Markers have been collected, advance the Dark Arts Path and return those markers.

Hypothetical example: Gryffindor and Slytherin have one pawn each on an ordinary space. A Dark Arts pawn legally ends its move there. This is the first bump of this Dark Arts turn; no card changes the normal collision rule.
Resolve it step by step
Confirm that the Dark Arts pawn ends its move on the occupied space. Passing a space is not the ending condition described by the bump rule.
Because two House pawns are present, the Dark Arts player chooses one to bump. In this example, choose Gryffindor.
Return the chosen Gryffindor pawn to the Great Hall. Remove the moving Dark Arts pawn from the Main Board and put it into the Dark Arts player’s pawn pool.
Take Gryffindor’s House Marker if the Dark Arts player does not already hold it. If this completes the set of every participating House player’s markers, advance the Dark Arts Marker one space and return all House Markers; resolve any resulting event using the event rules.
Draw the top two cards of the Dark Arts Acquire Deck, choose one for the top of the Dark Arts Draw Deck, and return the other to the bottom of the Acquire Deck. This acquisition step happens only once this turn, even if another bump occurs.
Result
Only Gryffindor is sent to the Great Hall; Slytherin stays on the space. The moving Dark Arts pawn returns to its pool. This is the Dark Arts bump procedure, not the House-initiated stun procedure.
Common mistakes
- Do not send every House pawn on the space back to the Great Hall: the Dark Arts player selects one.
- House Markers collected through bumps are different components from the three Dark Arts Progress Tokens required for victory.
- The chosen Acquire card goes onto the Draw Deck, not directly into the Dark Arts player’s hand.
