Effect & use
At space five or above, a leading eligible player obtains the Detector and the Room is revealed. On reaching an occupied final space, the newcomer takes the Detector; its former holder retreats one space and draws one card. Exchanging the Detector for a shield retreats its user three spaces.
Where to find it / how to resolve it
Advance by ending movement on a Dark Detector icon space, resolving a suitable card, or acquiring an Advanced Row card through the applicable Learn or Bonus Space option.
Restrictions & timing
- The Detector requires at least space five and track priority; an equal position does not automatically steal it.
- When every House Player is below space five, remove the Room. A pawn inside remains until it reopens.
Where guides use this entry
Each house uses four pawns: three in the Great Hall, and the fourth on the Loyalty Track. That fourth pawn tracks Loyalty rather than exploring. Setup: printed pages 6–9.

Content quality work in this revision
Added a 24-category component catalogue, nine sourced card examples and a rechecked Alohomora entry; the catalogue remains an identified sample rather than a complete Acquire Deck. Added a complete setup and first-round walkthrough with a player-count checklist, cross-links across all eight guides, reference information boxes, a clarification register, page-specific history and local correction drafts. This records reviewed preview content, without announcing the custom-domain launch.
