Draw before moving: the played card is not in Discard yet
An instant draw can resolve before movement. If the Draw Deck is empty, reshuffle the existing Discard Pile; the current Explore card joins it only at turn end.
This hypothetical situation was written by the wiki editors from the cited rules. It is an explanation, not a publisher ruling or a recorded playtest.
Starting situation
Hypothetical rule-type example, not a named published card: before the final phase, a House player has two hand cards, an empty Draw Deck and a non-empty Discard Pile. Assume the played card has ordinary legal movement and the instant draw-one effect used as an example on printed page 16. No other effect changes drawing or movement.
Resolve it step by step
Play that card from hand, leaving one hand card. Choose to use the optional instant effect before movement, and keep the played card separate from Discard for now.
Because the Draw Deck is empty, shuffle the cards already in the Discard Pile to form a new Draw Deck. Do not include the current Explore card.
Draw one card from the new deck. The player now has two hand cards. This draw effect does not advance the Dark Arts Marker.
Resolve the played card’s legal movement, then any applicable landing effects and remaining actions. Drawing a card alone does not give permission to play it immediately.
At the end of the turn, put the played Explore card onto the personal Discard Pile. It was not available to the earlier reshuffle.
Result
The instant effect draws one card before movement, leaving two cards in hand. The current played card is discarded only after the turn is resolved; this is a Card Draw effect, not Replenish.
Common mistakes
- Do not discard the Explore card early merely to shuffle it back into the deck.
- This example does not assert that a named card combines these abilities; it demonstrates the rulebook’s instant-effect timing.
- A draw effect neither reverses stun nor advances the path just because it adds a hand card.

Consistent terms, section search and two-side teaching
Unified 35 sourced English–Chinese terms and registered all three open rule questions. Search and guide backlinks now lead to matching sections in the current language. Added card-flow diagrams, conditional Dark Arts lessons and exact movement allowances alongside the five existing House comparisons. Unknown rules, routes, card effects and future draws remain unfilled.

Card lookup, comparison and effect timing
Unified card navigation on the card catalogue and labelled map links as movement guides. Added attribute filters and a shareable comparison of up to four source-checked card faces. Six additional Dark Arts Starter faces bring the collection to 16 named faces and 55 reference entries. Added 11 timing questions and four hypothetical worked examples with printed-page sources. This records preview content; the complete Acquire Deck remains outside the available evidence.
